The brightest prospects of Indian badminton will look to prove their mettle at the final HSBC BWF World Tour event on the circuit, the Syed Modi India International 2025 that begins in Lucknow tomorrow.

Women’s singles will see the likes of Unnati Hooda, Anmol Kharb and Tanvi Sharma test themselves in an interesting field that includes former world champion Nozomi Okuhara, third seed Sung Shuo Yun, fourth seed Neslihan Arin and sixth seed Polina Buhrova.

Men’s singles will see a couple Indian veterans up against younger challengers. HS Prannoy, seeded third, starts against qualifier Shashwat Dalal, while fellow-veteran Kidambi Srikanth opens against Kavin Thangam.

Jason Teh, who won the Korea Masters recently, heads the draw as top seed, while challengers include Magnus Johannesen, Kiran George, Mithun Manjunath, Priyanshu Rajawat and Yudai Okimoto.
