Former world champion Nozomi Okuhara, who has won her last three tournaments, will be looking to add a fourth when she begins her campaign at IKSAN VICTOR Korea Masters 2025 beginning tomorrow.
The fourth seed captured the Kaohsiung Masters, ALLIANZ Malaysia Super 100 and Indonesia Masters II – all BWF Tour Super 100 events – in recent weeks and will fancy her chances of going far in Iksan City. Okuhara takes on Singapore’s Yue Yann Jaslyn Hooi in the opening round.
In men’s singles, World Championships sensation Victor Lai is seeded second and will start against Kazakhstan’s Dmitry Panarin. Lai made history at the World Championships with a bronze medal for Canada, and fans will be looking forward to seeing him replicate that form.
In the top half of the draw, Lai’s compatriot Brian Yang will hope to break free of the run of early exits in recent events. After making the final of the US Open in June, Yang has fallen in either the first or second round of the next eight tournaments.
In women’s doubles the main point of interest will be the partnership between Allison Lee and Lee Yu Lim. The USA-Korea pair face Thailand’s Benyapa Aimsaard/Sabrina Wedler in the opening round.
