India Open: ‘Minions’ Take On ‘Babies’

Former No.1 duo Marcus Fernaldi Gideon/Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo face younger compatriots Leo Rolly Carnando/Daniel Marthin in the opening round of the YONEX SUNRISE India Open 2023 on Tuesday.

The ‘Minions’ hold a 2-0 record over the ‘Babies’, but their last meeting, at the Denmark Open 2022, was a close affair, with Gideon/Sukamuljo winning 22-20 in the third game. They face off in the last match on Court 1.

Other high-profile matches on the opening day are Kento Momota versus Rasmus Gemke, Lakshya Sen versus Prannoy HS, Nozomi Okuhara vs Carolina Marin, Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo versus Shi Yu Qi and Takuro Hoki/Yugo Kobayashi versus Kang Min Hyuk/Seo Seung Jae.
