US Open: Home Icon Zhang Back in Action

Having missed international action over the last three months due to injury, USA icon Beiwen Zhang returns to the circuit at the YONEX US Open 2026.

The defending champion, who won her second US Open title after a 10-year gap, last played this season at the Orleans Masters 2026 in March. Beiwen takes on young compatriot Ella Lin in the first round.

The women’s singles draw is studded with all the big names from Pan Am. Top seed Michelle Li will be looking for her first US Open title and begins her campaign against Chen Su Yu. Her compatriot Rachel Chan, who is in the same quarter, takes on Shriyanshi Valishetty, while another Canadian contender, Zhang Wen Yu, faces Huang Ching Ping in the third quarter.

Chou Tien Chen

In men’s singles, veteran Chou Tien Chen begins his campaign at the top of the draw as he seeks his first US Open title. Other contenders include Brian Yang and Kidambi Srikanth.

Mixed doubles top seeds Presley Smith/Jennie Gai will attempt to come good on home turf as they start their campaign against Filip Karlborg/Tilda Sjoo, while Chen Zhi Yi/Francesca Corbett are up against Timothy Lock/Chloe Hoang.

» In women’s doubles, Corbett/Gai face Yvonee LI/Tilda Sjoo, with No.3 seeds Lauren Lam/Allison Lee take on Indonesia’s Puspa Rosalia Damayanti/Serena Kani.

» Men’s doubles second seeds Chen Zhi Yi/Presley Smith face Canada’s Daniel Leung/Nyl Yakura.
