Defending champion Kunlavut Vitidsarn has been handed a new first round opponent at KFF Singapore Open 2026.

Vitidsarn, who beat Lu Guang Zu in last year’s final, will now begin his title defence against Belgian Julien Carraggi after his earlier opponent Rasmus Gemke withdrew. This will be the pair’s first meeting.

Vitidsarn starts as the second seed and has All England champion Lin Chun Yi, HSBC BWF World Tour Finals winner Christo Popov and world No.5 Jonatan Christie for company in the bottom half.

World No. 49 Carraggi has featured at the Singapore Open only once, suffering an opening round exit in 2024 to H. S. Prannoy. He last appeared in April at the European Championships, where he lost in the quarterfinals to eventual bronze medallist Toma Junior Popov.
