Smashing Stats: Orleans Masters 2026

Now in its fourth year as an HSBC BWF World Tour event, the Super 300 Orleans Masters 2026 offers plenty of intriguing storylines.

Here are some standout ones.

  • Among the three starting top seeds, only Thom Gicquel/Delphine Delrue have aced this event (2019).
  • Men’s singles top seed Chou Tien Chen is making his tournament debut.
  • Interestingly, men’s doubles powerhouse Indonesia are yet to produce a winning pair. This edition, they possess two of the top three seeds – Raymond Indra/Nikolaus Joaquin (2) and Leo Rolly Carnando/Bagas Maulana (3).
  • It is a category that has seen remarkable diversity, with seven flags at the top of the last seven podiums.
  • Indonesia could also break their duck in mixed doubles, with two seeded pairs – Amri Syahnawi/Nita Violina Marwah (7) and Adnan Maulana/Indah Cahya Sari Jamil (8).
  • Defending champions in two categories return – Alex Lanier and Jesper Toft/Amelie Magelund.
  • If victorious, Toft/Magelund would become the first mixed pair to defend their title since compatriots Mathias Christiansen and Lena Grebak a decade ago.
  • Christiansen himself could make history by becoming the tournament’s most successful player outright, should he claim a fourth crown with Alexandra Boje – his winning mixed doubles partner four years ago.
  • Lanier’s countryman Toma Junior Popov stands a good chance of emerging the first three-time men’s singles champion.
  • Post-COVID, the two home stars have won three of the five men’s singles finals.

Standout Stat: No country has captured a category more than thrice, except Denmark, who have five mixed doubles titles.
