This week marks the end of an era as Indonesian legends Mohammad Ahsan and Hendra Setiawan, affectionately known as ‘The Daddies’ play their final tournament at the DAIHATSU Indonesia Masters 2025.
With their graceful teamwork, effortless strokes and unmatched achievements, the pair, who announced their retirement last year, will conclude an almighty partnership that redefined men’s doubles badminton.
The pair are three-time world champions (2013, 2015, 2019) together, two-time All England winners (2014, 2019) and former world No.1s. The home heroes, set to be backed by a strong Istora crowd, will take on Chien-Wei Chiang/Hsuan-Yi Wu of Chinese Taipei in the first round.
Meanwhile, Ahsan/Setiawan’s compatriot Anthony Sinisuka Ginting has withdrawn due to injury joining last week’s India Open runner-up Lee Cheuk Yiu in skipping the Indonesia Masters.
Other notable withdrawals include reigning women’s singles champion and top seed Wang Zhi Yi.
