Malaysia Masters: Super 500 Bow for Johannesen

Young Dane Magnus Johannesen, runner-up at the last HSBC BWF World Tour event in April – Orleans Masters – will make his Super 500 debut at PERODUA Malaysia Masters 2023 presented by DAIHATSU.

The 21-year-old has been promoted to the main draw after the withdrawal of Indonesian Shesar Hiren Rhustavito. Johannesen will take on Sitthikom Thammasin, himself a replacement for world No.1 Viktor Axelsen, who pulled his hamstring at the TotalEnergies BWF Sudirman Cup Finals 2023 on Friday.
